The Amado's decide to spend a weekend in the old and decadent family home outside the city. Things take an unexpected turn when Dominga, the housekeeper in charge of caring for the family patriarch, Arcadio Amado, gives birth to a baby, causing confusion and bewilderment and the moral mantle that covers the family begins to move away.
